What card do you use?

I have a Radeon HD 7850 1gb, that I'm looking to upgrade so that I can play ultra on everything. So far, I can only play high without AA on :(.

Right now I'm using a GTX 660 SC (2GB, non-Ti, no SLI) and a i3-4130. My i5 is currently on its way to Intel to see what their policy on assploded CPUs is.

I want to go to a dual card setup, two 760s should be plenty of power going foward. And RAM. Also a new PSU. Maybe a new motherboard.

Jesus this can get expensive. But I can wait and take my time.

Wow, after looking at your specs, my videocard is really the thing that's been bottlenecking my performance.

I have a first gen i7 (i7 920), with 20gb of ram, however, my videocard is the really cheap part of my PC (i bought it on impulse because it was eyefinity supported and got fairly good reviews).

Time to go to microcenter I guess :(.

If you go for a R7 or R9 Radeon or the equivalent in the NVidia space, you'll be golden.

The i3 is shockingly good for only a dual core card, I wasn't expecting it to keep up with a game like BF4 with the settings I picked. But I still miss the i5 and its glorious quad core excellence.

How well do you think BF4 will run on a GTX 645 1GB? Also is the game still broken? I have been holding out on buying it for a while because of it.

Broken? Probably. I still get odd crashes for no real explainable reason.

As far as that card? I'd wager you could do mid-high settings at 1080p

Off the top of your head, would you know what the Radeon equivalent of the 660 is?

AFAIK, it is the 7870 is the equivalent.

The 660 Tis equivalent is the 7950. Those are a tad more beefy.

If you go to this years versions of the cards, the 760 is equal to the 660 Ti so whatever the 760 is equivalent to in ATI is also more powerful than the 7950.

Okay, in a better manner. Pick a pricepoint, at ~250 you're better off at the 760/ATI equivalent. At 200, the 660 or 7870. At 300, 770/ati equivalent.

Yea, sometimes confusing.

Don't judge. I haven't changed it since I was literally 12.

The only issues with BF4 is the net code. It can still be randomly laggy, and sometimes hard to get into a server due to the amount of time it takes to join (typically times out if it takes to long and just gives up). Latency and lag in-game isn't ridiculously bad if you have a 10mb+ connection and choose a decent server that is based nearby (low ping).

The game itself is fantastic. I've always loved battlefield, but this one is by far the most fun to play. I'd say it's definitely worth the buy. I picked it up on black friday for $30 and enjoyed it ever since.

If you have a nice internet connection and don't mind taking a few minutes to get into a good server sometimes, then I'd highly recommend it.

I have heard a lot about the netcode but does it crash as often as everyone says it does? Bad Company 2 hasn't crashed on me once.

Crysis runs well on a Dual Core? Im not a gamer, so I find this amusing. Time to yank my 660TI and play purely on CPU. If a dual core can do it, then I have 22 more to throw at it for graphics. ASPEED graphics should be supported, right?

Just kidding. The 660TI still has plenty of life in it. Wont get replaced until it runs out of juice for Adobe Mercury Engine. No games on this puppy, and next BIG payday will be an upgrade to dual E5-2680s. Wont be for a long while though. No good upgrades right now...bugger.

Keep those systems clean! Your GPUs dont stand a chance with those wimpy reference coolers. Asus Direct CU, MSI Twin Frozr, Gigabyte Windforce OC are the best models to get, all the power, less noise, better cooling. I push them to all of my customers, and Ive never had one come back. Upfront cost is a tiny bit higher, but it lasts so much longer. Dont even get me started on wiring. iBuyPower is notorious for doing a crappy job, just fixed one of their machines. Boxx is supposedly pretty good, but I have one customer try them out. Its still under warranty, so I dont know whether its any good yet.

I don't have that issue anymore. It did when I first got it, but since the past few updates I haven't had that issue. The only issue I still experience is the random bit of lag. Most of the time it's a minor lag spike every 5-10 minutes, which is manageable.

I have a 20mbps connection for reference. But my PC is a mid-range build and it's also wireless, so I'm a pretty good statistic to go off of.
